Sharing Your Faith

As Christians we are told to teach others about the Lord and His love in Matthew 28:19, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”  We are to teach all nations.  With the advancement of the internet and social media the number of ways we can reach people is astronomical!

It is estimated that 60% of the people on the internet read blogs regularly and over 4.4 billion people are active on social media.  Of course a number of those people are Christians. How many, I don’t know, but I can guarantee that some are new Christians and others are older, more experienced Christians. However, I bet a large percentage of that number are not Christians at all and have never even heard about the love of Jesus. While I know it’s true, I find astonishing that in this age of technology that billions of people have never heard of Jesus and His love.

One of the best ways to share the love of Jesus is to share your personal testimony.

Sharing your faith with others is an intimate experience. It can be scary and overwhelming for some people, but it helps them to understand the power of Christ’s love by seeing how forgiveness was obtained and lives were changed. You should never assume that those who don’t know about Christ will automatically become His followers – instead you must make every effort possible so these individuals may come across information related specifically concerning what he offers: salvation from sin and eternal life.

There are 3 main ways you can share your story of faith online in a way that can help others.

  1. Write – With the popularity and accessibility of social media and blogging, it’s never been easier to share your faith online. You could blog on different sites such as Medium or guest post for other bloggers if you don’t have your own website! You could even write an ebook and then publish it on Amazon for Kindle.
  2. Video – Videos are an intimate way of telling someone else’s life-story and experiences and allows you to personally connect with others. The viewer can see your emotions and how you react while sharing it, so please don’t be shy!
  3. Podcast – A podcast is simply an audio recording that is delivered through a podcast directory such as iTunes.  Podcasts are more personal than traditional writing in that the emotions of your voice come out for listeners. You can share your story, allow your listeners to hear the emotional side of you, allow them to intimately connect with you, without the fear of a camera.

The important thing is that you get your message out there. Share your testimony. Share how God has changed your life. Share the love of God.
